A Governess is expected to remain distant from servants of the household, yet is not part of the family who hired her. I loved reading about the challenges of a 19th century governess and pondering the pros and cons and reasons for choosing this path. In summary, good solid Historical Fiction that will appeal to those who enjoy this genre or those who just want to get lost in a nice story.
